Jana's story is one of overcoming. The enemy comes to steal and destroy but God gives life in abundance. Even though there was so much loss, grief and death - there has also been joy and life again.
"My story began even before I was born. When my mom was seven months pregnant with me, my dad was killed. She remarried when I was four, and together they had my younger brother.
In Grade 2, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. A year later, we lost my three-year-old brother in a drowning accident. Despite these deep losses, my mom walked closely with the Lord. Her faith was so strong that even those who came to encourage her left encouraged by her.
After a seven-year battle with cancer, which spread to her liver and bones, my mom passed away when I was in Grade 9. By then, I had already started my own journey with the Lord in Grade 8, something I am incredibly grateful for, as it carried me through that difficult time.
My mom deeply shaped my life in the 14 years I had with her—teaching me to serve others and to value family. I was also blessed to stay connected with my biological dad’s family, whose love for the Lord made a lasting impact on me.
I married my high school sweetheart in 2007. In 2011, we were overjoyed to expect identical twin girls, but we lost them at 20 weeks due to TTTS. It was devastating, but the Lord was faithful and carried us through.
A year later, we were blessed with our son, Gideon, followed by our daughter Anja in 2014 and our youngest son, Reuben, in 2016. Reuben was born on my biological dad’s birthday—a deeply meaningful reminder that God sees our pain and redeems it in the most personal ways. As Reuben grows, we see so many of my dad’s traits in him, and it feels like the Lord is revealing more of my dad’s life to me through my son.
Through every season—loss, grief, and blessing—God has been faithful.
Today, I am deeply thankful for a godly husband and the privilege of raising our three beautiful children. It is an honor to be a mom and to guide them in walking with the Lord.
